KISHOREGANJ, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed after a truck overturned onto a pickup on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional highway in Kishoreganj's Kuliarchar upazila early today.

The deceased, identified as Parvez Mia, 30, a highway police constable was serving at the Bhairab Highway Police Station. He hailed from Sadar upazila in Habiganj district.

The accident occurred around 12.30 am in the Dariakandi Bus Stand area on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj regional highway.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station Suman Kumar Chowdhury said a truck lost control and overturned onto the police pickup while its tire was being inflated on the roadside.

"The truck fell directly onto our pickup and Constable Parvez Mia was crushed underneath. He died at the scene," the officer said.

The body has been sent to the morgue of Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital for further procedures, police added.
