RAJSHAHI, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today fined a sweets manufacturer Tk 15,000 in Rajshahi city for producing and selling products without mandatory BSTI certification and proper product labelling during a drive conducted by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
The mobile court, conducted on the initiative of the BSTI Divisional Office, Rajshahi, fined Olympia Sweets, located in the Hargram Bazar area of the city, for manufacturing and selling or distributing sweetmeats without obtaining a BSTI quality certificate.
The establishment was also found producing and marketing fermented milk products (doi and matha) without labels containing production and expiry dates and other mandatory information.
The mobile court was led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Rajshahi District Administration, Shahriar Islam Nasif,.
Engineer Junaid Ahmed, an officer of the Certification Marks Wing of the BSTI Divisional Office, Rajshahi, prosecuted the case before the mobile court.
Members of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were present during the drive.
