RAJSHAHI, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi-3 constituency MP Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon today said Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was a leader of the masses and an architect who turned the nation's dreams into reality.

He made the remarks as the chief guest this afternoon at a discussion and doa mahfil held on the Mohanpur Upazila Parishad premises marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

Mohanpur Upazila BNP and its affiliate organizations hosted the programmes.

"Ziaur Rahman dedicated his life to public service without compromise," Milon said, adding, "His revolutionary 19-point program gained widespread acceptance, securing him a lasting place in the hearts of people from all walks of life."

“He (Shaheed Zia) did not just offer visions for the nation, he was a skilled craftsman who gave those visions practical shape. Under his far-sighted leadership, the nation found a clear path forward," said Milon.

Following the discussion, a special doa mahfil was held seeking eternal peace for the soul of the departed leader.

The program was presided over by Mohanpur Upazila BNP President Shamimul Islam Moon. Former Upazila Parishad Chairman Professor Abdus Samad, Upazila BNP General Secretary Mahbub Ar Rashid and local leaders and activists of the party and its affiliates were also present.
