DHAKA, Aug 4, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum tomorrow.

The Prime Minister, as the chief guest, will formally inaugurate the museum by unveiling its plaque at 9:00 am.

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury disclosed the information at a press conference held in the conference room of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs at the Secretariat here today.

He said the museum will remain reserved for special guests and members of the families of the July martyrs on the inauguration day and will be opened to the general public from August 6.

Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister will visit the museum's galleries and exhibitions and learn about the history of the July Mass Uprising by inspecting the preserved artefacts, photographs, documents and memorabilia.

The Minister added that the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum has been established to preserve the glorious memories of the July Mass Uprising—an unforgettable milestone in the history of Bangladesh's anti-fascist democratic movement—to present the authentic history of the struggle to the new generation and to commemorate the sacrifices of the martyrs and the July fighters.

At the inaugural ceremony, July fighters and members of the families of the July martyrs will deliver speeches recalling the heroism and sacrifices associated with the July Mass Uprising.

A documentary depicting the course of the July Mass Uprising, the participation of the masses and the history of the victory will also be screened, he added.

The cultural segment of the programme will feature patriotic songs, recitations and performances by eminent artistes of the country, highlighting the spirit of the July Mass Uprising, patriotism and democratic values, he said.

At the concluding session of the programme, the Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum will deliver the vote of thanks.

Tickets for entry to the museum will be available online. The entry fee has been fixed at Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for children.
