DHAKA, Aug 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people, including the alleged prime suspect, over the death of headteacher Ranjila Parveen, 56, who fell from an auto-rickshaw after a mugger reportedly tugged at her bag near Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

RAB-2 identified the prime suspect as Poni, also known as "Para Ponir". 

The elite force also recovered the motorcycle allegedly used in the mugging.

RAB-2 confirmed the arrests in a text message sent to the media on Sunday.
