DMP files 1,675 cases for traffic violations

DHAKA, Aug 30, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,675 cases against traffic law violators in the capital over the past 24 hours.

According to a DMP press release today, 414 vehicles were dumped and 194 others towed during the enforcement drives.

Of the total cases, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 80, including against 13 buses, four covered vans, seven CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 10 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 159 cases, including against six buses, six trucks, 24 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 83 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Motijheel Division filed 247 cases, including against 13 buses, two trucks, 20 covered vans, 51 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 129 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Wari Division filed 145 cases, including against 15 buses, 20 trucks, 18 covered vans, 22 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 25 motorcycles, while the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 111 cases, including against seven buses, three trucks, seven covered vans, 21 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 37 motorcycles.

Meanwhile, the Traffic-Mirpur Division filed 268 cases, including against 11 buses, 15 covered vans, 44 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 124 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Uttara Division filed the highest 369 cases, including against 36 buses, 20 covered vans, 77 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 131 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 296 cases, including against 49 buses, four trucks, 14 covered vans, 42 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 96 motorcycles.

The DMP said its traffic enforcement drives would continue across the capital to ensure discipline on the roads and compliance with traffic laws.
