DHAKA, Sept 11, 2026 (BSS)- The government has redistributed the responsibilities for parliamentary affairs of several ministries and divisions during sessions of the Jatiya Sangsad.
As a result, Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed have received increased parliamentary responsibilities.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard today.
According to the notification, until further orders, during sessions of the Jatiya Sangsad, the designated ministers will perform parliamentary affairs of those ministries and divisions, including the Office of the President and the ministries and divisions under the responsibility of the Prime Minister, where no minister or state minister has been appointed.
Under the new decision, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed will handle the parliamentary affairs of the Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Division.
In the absence of Salahuddin Ahmed, Social Welfare Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain and Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir will perform these responsibilities.
Meanwhile, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan has been assigned to conduct parliamentary affairs of the Office of the President, Election Commission Secretariat and Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.
In the absence of Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman will perform these responsibilities.
The notification further said that other matters mentioned in the previous notifications issued by the Cabinet Division on March 17, April 6, July 16 and August 20 this year will remain unchanged.
The government's new decision will come into effect immediately.
