DHAKA, Jan 01, 2025 (BSS) - The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) will accord a reception to newly appointed Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury on January 4.

According to a notification signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, the Chief Justice has given his consent and approval for holding the reception ceremony organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association at Courtroom No. 1 of the Appellate Division at 10:30 am on January 4.

Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury took oath as the country's 26th Chief Justice on December 28, 2025.

Earlier, President Mohammed Shahabuddin, under the authority bestowed upon him under Article 95 (1) of the Constitution, appointed Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury as the country's 26th Chief Justice.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification on the appointment on December 23.
