RANGPUR, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in an anti-drug drive arrested an alleged drug dealer with 16.4 kg of ganja from village Haldibari under Kawnia police station of Rangpur district on Sunday afternoon. 
 
Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) seized 16.4 kg of ganja from eight bamboo baskets and arrested the alleged drug dealer from the village at 4:45 pm, a press release said issued this afternoon.
 
The detainee was identified as Md Swadhin Mandal, 38, son of late Abdus Samad, of village Chhoto Kumiriya under Sadar police station of Bogura district.
 
After filing a case against drug dealer Swadhin under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, the elite force handed over him along with the seized ganja to Kawnia police station of Rangpur district, the release added.
