ATM Azharul Islam's election campaign begins in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - Jamaat-e-Islami-nominated MP candidate for Rangpur-2 (Badarganj-Taraganj) seat ATM Azharul Islam held a welcome 
procession in Taraganj upazila on the first day of election campaign in the afternoon today (Thursday).
 
Azharul Islam, also a central Nayeb-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, took the huge election procession from Model Government Primary School to the roads of the 
upazila town and exchanged greetings with voters and people from all walks of life. 
 
At the end of the procession, he said that he has become the Jamaat-e-Islami-nominated Member of Parliament (MP) candidate for the upcoming 13th Jatiya 
Sangsad (JS) Election- 2026 from Rangpur-2 constituency on behalf of the 10-party alliance. 
 
He urged everyone to vote for the country in the elections. 
 
ATM Azharul Islam said that the welfare of the country lies in active participation of the people in the development activities of society and the state. 

"For this, we should become self-reliant by ensuring higher education and rights. Through this, the society and the state will move forward on the path of welfare," he said. 

He said, "We have to come forward to build the country with patriotism and good character. We will preserve and use the people's deposits honestly and properly on the path of Allah's directed welfare in society and the state."

Earlier in the morning, ATM Azharul Islam exchanged greetings with voters in different areas of Badarganj Upazila Sadar. 

Taraganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer SM Alamgir Hossain, Upazila Secretary Moulana Yakub Ali, Badarganj Upazila Ameer Muhammad Kamruzzaman, Kabir, Nayeb-e Ameer Shah Muhammad Rustam and local leaders were present at the events.
