Three held with firearms, yaba-making equipment in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Dec 7, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of Bangladesh Army and local law enforcers arrested three suspected arms dealers and recovered illegal weapons and drug-making equipment from Titas upazila this morning. 

During the operation in Shahapur area early Sunday, the team seized a 9mm pistol, three rounds of ammunition, a machete, and materials for producing yaba tablets, said Titas Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Md Mofiz Uddin this afternoon.

According to police and army sources, the Bangladesh Army has been conducting regular drives in coordination with the local administration to curb illegal arms trade, suppress terrorism, and eradicate drug networks. Sunday's operation was part of these ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order in the region.

The seized arms, ammunition, and equipment were handed over to Titas Police Station in accordance with legal procedures.

OC (Investigation) Md Mofiz Uddin said the detained individuals have been identified as involved in illegal arms trading. A case has been filed, and further investigations are underway.
