GAIBANDHA, Dec 31, 2025 (BSS) - The Sundarganj Upazila administration distributed blankets to char people living in Kapasia, Horipur and Chandipur unions under the Brahmaputra and Teesta river basins to help them cope with the ongoing cold wave.

UNO Effat Jahan Tuli, along with upazila officials, handed out a total of 2,941 blankets to cold-affected residents till Wednesday. 

The UNO also visited hard-to-reach char areas and distributed warm clothes to poor and elderly people in mainland areas, including railway stations and bus terminals.
