DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) — Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has submitted six proposals to commerce ministry to strengthen trade and investment relations with China, a BCCCI statement said today.

It said led by the trade body’s president Mohammad Khorshed Alam a BCCCI delegation met commerce secretary Md Ataur Rahman Khan at his office and submitted the proposals.

The delegation informed him that bonded warehouse facilities were being misused with unauthorised sales of bonded goods in domestic market, creating unfair competition and discouraging potential foreign investment, particularly from China.

The BCCCI called for stronger monitoring and enforcement to prevent such practices and ensure a level playing field for compliant businesses and genuine investors.

The other proposals include establishing at least 20 permanent display centres for Bangladeshi products in China, increasing exports to the Chinese market, enhancing participation in major Chinese trade fairs, facilitating the establishment of a branch of a Chinese bank in Bangladesh, and expanding technical and vocational cooperation with China.

The delegation also shared its experience of participation in the 10th China-South Asia Expo held in Kunming, highlighting opportunities to further promote Bangladeshi products in China and attract Chinese investment to Bangladesh.

BCCCI’s senior vice presidents Han Jingchao and AZM. Azizur Rahman, secretary general Jamilur Rahman, and executive director M Abu Taher, were among the delegation to the ministry.
