Muntasir Hossain appointed Invest Bangladesh’s first Member, Technology & Innovation

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) — Mohammad Muntasir Hossain has been appointed as the first Member, Technology & Innovation of Invest Bangladesh, with the government aiming to strengthen digital services for investors.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification today appointing Hossain as a Member of Invest Bangladesh, under the Prime Minister’s Office, on a one-year contract from the date of his joining. He will hold the rank of Additional Secretary.

Hossain brings two decades of experience in digital products, innovation and commercial development in Bangladesh and international markets.

He held senior positions at Grameenphone and Telenor Group, where he worked across product development, innovation, new business, commercial development and social impact.

He later founded and led several global technology ventures.

He holds BBA and MBA degrees from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and completed executive education programmes at INSEAD and London Business School.

As Member, Technology & Innovation, Hossain will lead a team tasked with developing future-ready digital platforms to provide investors with a more seamless and coordinated user experience.

“Our goal is simple: make investing in Bangladesh easier, faster and more predictable,” Hossain said.

“Building on the strong foundations already in place, we will use technology to connect services more seamlessly, improve the investor experience and make it easier to access information, complete processes and track progress through one coordinated journey. That will be our immediate priority,” he added.

Invest Bangladesh became the country’s apex investment promotion agency on August 20, 2026, following the merger of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority and Public-Private Partnership Authority.
