DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) - A low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining area, which may cause squally weather over the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued the warning message today.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
"Under the influence of the low pressure area, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh," said in the warning message.
"All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice," it added.
