DHAKA, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Health Ministry has extended the validity of recruitment clearance for 1,855 posts under the Directorate General of the Family Planning.

According to the fresh decision, the recruitment clearance for the posts, ranging from Grade 11 to Grade 20, will remain valid until June 30, 2027, official sources said here today.

A letter signed by its Joint Secretary Muhammad Abdul Hossain has recently issued by the Health Education and Family Welfare Division under the Health Ministry in this regard.

The letter said the validity of the recruitment clearance, originally granted through three orders issued in 2019, was extended following an application by Directorate General of Family Planning on June 25, 2026.

Under the clearance, 1,667 posts in 17 categories are available at the headquarters level of the Directorate General of Family Planning, while 188 posts in four categories are available at the district level.

Among the notable posts at the headquarters level are- Medical Technologist (Laboratory), Family Welfare Visitor, Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist, Physiotherapist, Research Assistant, Assistant Librarian, EPI Technician, Telephone Operator, Ward Master, Birth Certificate Copier, Ticket Clerk, Ventilator-cum-Mechanic, Cinema Supervisor, Radio Copier and Cardiographer.

The post of Medical Technologist (Laboratory) is in Grade 11, with a pay scale of Taka 12,500 to Taka 30,230. 

The Family Welfare Visitor post is in Grade 14, with a pay scale of Taka 10,200 to Taka 24,680, while the Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist post is in Grade 16, carrying a pay scale of Taka 9,300 to Taka 22,490.

The posts available for recruitment at the district level include Family Planning Assistant (FPA), Family Planning Inspector (FPI), Family Welfare Assistant and Aya.

 A total of 188 vacant posts in these categories are available for direct recruitment.

In addition, the posts of Office Support Staff (MLSS) and Cook Helper at the directorate level have also been included in the recruitment clearance. The Office Support Staff post is in Grade 20, with a pay scale of Taka 8,250 to Taka 20,010.

The letter also laid down several conditions for the recruitment process. The concerned authorities have been instructed to complete the recruitment process transparently and in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.

However, direct recruitment will not be allowed against posts that have become vacant due to promotion, transfer, retirement, dismissal or other reasons.

Recruitment will be made only against vacancies designated for direct recruitment, the letter clarified.

The authorities will also have to inform the concerned division of the ministry of recruitment-related information within 15 working days after completion of the recruitment process.

The letter further stated that the recruitment process for the posts must be completed within the extended validity period, that is, by June 30, 2027.

The decision has already been communicated to the DG of Family Planning for implementation.
