COX'S BAZAR, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Senior leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and party candidate for Cox's Bazar-1 (Chokoria-Pekua) Salahuddin
Ahmed today said that the BNP seeks a united Bangladesh and does not support division along religious lines.
Speaking as the chief guest at an election rally for BNP candidate Lutfor Rahman Kajol at the Bir Muktijoddha field in Cox's Bazar, Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized that the party stands for unity and inclusiveness.
He condemned those involved in the killing of freedom fighters and the persecution of minorities.
He also outlined BNP's visions to fulfill the aspirations of the martyrs and build a stronger state, including the proposal to upgrade the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway to a six-lane road.
Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Hefazat-e-Islam Maulana Azizul Haq, criticized those seeking votes on the grounds of justice. "The party unable to ensure justice in seat-sharing with their allies would fail to uphold justice in governance," he said.
