DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency Aminul Haque on Wednesday said no incitement or disorder aimed at disrupting the election environment would be tolerated.
He made the remarks while campaigning in different areas of D Block under Pallabi Thana in the capital on the 15th day of his election campaign.
"If anyone attempts to create an unstable situation, it will be dealt with firmly with the support of the general public and law-enforcement agencies," he said.
Aminul Haque also issued strict instructions to party leaders and activists not to fall into any provocation, saying that their goal is to secure the people's mandate through a free, fair and peaceful election scheduled for February 12.
During the campaign, he alleged that leaders of a rival party were attempting to influence voters by offering various inducements to ordinary people.
He said sufficient evidence, including video clips, had already been sent to the party's central office and that the matter would soon be formally brought to the attention of the concerned Returning Officer.
From early morning as Aminul Haque campaigned in different areas of Pallabi, widespread enthusiasm was observed among local residents. In many places, people came out of their homes and welcomed him with flowers. Residents also raised various long-standing problems and grievances affecting their areas.
He listened patiently to the concerns and assured residents that, if elected, he would prioritize resolving those issues.
Aminul Haque said the overall campaign environment in the area has so far been satisfactory and that all candidates are able to carry out their activities freely.
He, however, warned that any attempt by any quarter to damage the democratic atmosphere through provocation would be met firmly by the party's coordination committee in cooperation with law-enforcement agencies.
During the campaign, he also distributed leaflets outlining his future development plans. A large number of leaders and activists from the local BNP and its affiliated organizations accompanied him.
