RAJSHAHI, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS)- Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, said that maximum cooperation will be provided in allocating government khas land and railway land for educational institutions, madrasas and orphanages, in order to continue the education of underprivileged children.

For this purpose, he promised to send a direct recommendation to the Railway Minister and the Railway Secretary for quick approval of the concerned application.

He said this today while visiting the JAAGO Foundation School at Assam Colony in Rajshahi city.

The Land Minister said that it is essential to arrange permanent space to organize the right to education for local children in underprivileged areas and to sustain their employment-oriented education.

For this purpose, he urged to apply for allocation of suitable khas land beside the new road or beside the railway.

During  a view  exchange meeting, it was informed that currently about 5,000 underprivileged children are studying in 11 schools through the USEP schools, most of which are operating on City Corporation land.

Previously, during his tenure as Mayor, various forms of assistance were provided for these schools, including the construction of 3 multi-storied buildings.

However, at present, the lease agreements for several sites are expiring, one of which is the site adjacent to the Tikapara Graveyard.
