DHAKA, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain today made a surprise visit to Habiganj Sadar Hospital without prior notice.

The minister reached the hospital unexpectedly around 12 noon and visited different departments.

During the inspection, he observed on the spot medical services of the hospital, cleanliness, facilities for patients, and the attendance and performance of doctors, nurses and other officials and employees. 

He also visited various wards and departments and spoke with patients.

During the visit, the patients at the hospital informed the minister about the quality of services provided and the mismanagement there. 

The health minister expressed dissatisfaction after finding irregularities in various areas of the hospital. 

He also instructed the officials and employees to be more cautious and sincere in discharging their duties.

Meanwhile, during a visit to the hospital dispensary, the minister found pharmacist Regan Ahmed absent without leave. An order was subsequently issued for his immediate transfer.
