DHAKA, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS)- Social Welfare Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain today said the government is working with utmost care to ensure the fundamental rights of the people.

“All kinds of government facilities, assistance and support are being distributed among the common people with complete transparency and accountability, and the government is carrying out its activities responsibly in every sector to ensure the fundamental rights of the people,” he said.

Speaking as the chief guest, he said this while addressing a workers’ conference and exchange of views meeting at Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur.

The minister stressed providing educational assistance to students from poor and socially disadvantaged families and ensuring proper distribution of government assistances. 

He advised greater involvement of children in sports and cultural activities to help build the future generation as good citizens. 
“BNP is working to take the country forward in unity, bringing together people from all classes and professions irrespective of religion and caste,” he said.

He also called upon imams, muezzins and teachers of Qawmi madrasas to play a leading role in preventing the erosion of morality and values in society.

“Every BNP leader and activist at the grassroots level, as well as all democratic citizens, must build united resistance against those who are trying to create disorder in the country,” he said, mentioning the evil attempts of defeated authoritarian forces.

He said those who have subjected ordinary people to oppression, enforced disappearances, killings, terrorism and looting over the past years will each be brought under the existing law and ensured justice and the government is working to achieve that goal.

Khatta Madhabpara Union BNP President Md. Shamsul Islam chaired the event. Local BNP leaders from upazila and union levels were present on the occasion.
