Academics-entrepreneurs collaboration vital for national l development

RAJSHAHI, May 5, 2024 (BSS) - Close collaboration and coordination between entrepreneurs and academics can be the best way of attaining cherished development of the nation.
 
All the entrepreneurs and academics should come forward and work together for bolstering the country's economy through strengthening the industrial sector.

Industrialists and academics came up with the observation while addressing a seminar styled "Industry-Academia Motivational Speech" here on Saturday.

Students Welfare Office and Research and Extension Office of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) organized the seminar at its central auditorium.

RUET Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Jahangir Alam addressed the seminar as chief guest, while Chairman of PHP Group of Industries Sufi Muhammad Mijanur Rahman spoke as focal person with RUET Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Awal in the chair.

Managing Director of PHP Group of Industries Amir Hossain Sohel, Director of RUET Research and Extension Prof Faruque Hossain and Registrar Arife Ahmmad Chowdhury also spoke.

VC Prof Jahangir Alam said they are working relentlessly to strengthen the academia-industry relation and collaboration to boost employment generation and industrial production after the best use of skilled human resources.
 
He also said universities, Industry and entrepreneurs are interrelated and they can play pioneering roles towards taking the country and the nation forward successfully.
 
They have given the utmost emphasis on generating skilled human resources as it is very important for building a smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.

The VC said skilled students will attain the capacity of leadership in the field of building Smart Bangladesh.

In his remarks, Sufi Mijanur Rahman said relation building and united working by industry experts and academia is very much important for generating competent workforces eligible for Bangladesh's fourth industrial revolution.
