THAKURGAON, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to Delhi after ruining the country.

“Sheikh Hasina left the entire democratic process in trouble, not just the leaders and activists of her own party, he said these while carrying out election campaign at Paikpara in Begunbari Union of his constituency, Thakurgaon-1.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “We do not betray the trust of the people. We seek votes as per works.”

He said if BNP comes to power, no one will be allowed to take or give bribes for jobs.

The BNP Secretary General said there are some bad elements inside the party who try to create divisions within the party.

He urged everyone to remain vigilant so that no one can create such divisions.

He said members of the Hindu community should live with courage, assuring them that BNP stands by them in any problem they face.

“You may vote for whoever you wish; if anyone tries to obstruct you, we will stand by you,” he said.

Fakhrul called upon everyone to reject those who betrayed the nation in 1971 by assisting the Pakistanis in committing genocide, and to vote in favour of the country and democracy by casting ballots for the Sheaf of Paddy symbol.
