BAGERHAT, Jan 13, 2026 (BSS) - A voter awareness campaign titled "The keys to the country are in your hands" was held in Chitalmari Upazila here in the district to inform voters about the referendum scheduled for February 12.

As part of the campaign, election leaflets were distributed at the premises of the Upazila Social Service Office this evening.

Speaking at the event, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Sajjad Hossain highlighted the importance of public participation in the upcoming referendum. He urged voters to make an informed decision, stressing that the power to bring change lies in their hands. He explained the significance of the referendum and its implications in detail to the beneficiaries present.

Acting Upazila Election Officer Md. Ruman Hussain, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Acting Upazila Social Service Officer Ranjan Halder, and officials from various government departments were also present.

Earlier at 10:30 am, the Women's Affairs Department organized a training meeting on mother and child nutrition and child development at Haider Fakir's house, located behind the Shibpur Union Parishad. During the meeting, election leaflets related to the referendum were distributed among women participants, and discussions were held to raise awareness. Upazila Women Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman attended the session.
