RAJSHAHI, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) have recovered and formally handed over 125 mobile phones lost from different parts of the country due to carelessness to their actual owners.

RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir handed over the phones to their respective owners in a programme organized by the Cyber Crime Unit of RMP today at its Headquarter conference hall.
 
The owners, including former Principal of New Degree College Jarjis Qadir and a student studying at Rajshahi University Swarna Chakraborty, expressed their joy at getting back their lost mobile phones after a long time and thanked the police.

At the event, the RMP Commissioner said, in the present digital age, mobile phones are a very important part of people's daily lives.
People naturally have an emotional attachment to their own earned assets. Many people buy mobile phones according to their needs and hobbies with long-term savings.

Therefore, when a mobile phone is lost, it is not just a financial loss; important communications, personal information, necessary documents, passwords and information related to financial transactions are also at risk.

Considering this reality, RMP's Cyber Crime Unit is working sincerely to identify and recover lost mobile phones with the help of modern technology.

At the event, the Police Commissioner congratulated the actual owners by handing over the recovered mobile phones to them.

At the same time, he called upon the citizens to be more careful in using mobile phones in the future as well as to preserve important information and IMEI numbers of the phones.
 
Also present at the event were Deputy Commissioners Khorshed Alam, Monirul Islam, Mainul Islam, Din Mohammad and Abul Kalam Sahid and other senior officials of RMP.
