PATUAKHALI, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle at Dalugazi crossing on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway in Sadar upazila this morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Atik, 32, son of Maulana Ashraf Howlader, a resident of Jamura area under Laukathi union of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 8.00 am when a bus of Shikdar Paribahan hit the motorcycle from opposite direction, leaving bike rider Atik dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patuakhali Sadar Police Station Moniruzzaman confirmed the matter and said necessary legal action in this regard is underway.
