SATKHIRA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6, Satkhira camp, today arrested a suspected terrorist with three firearms and 11 rounds of ammunition from Choubaria area in Sadar upazila.

The arrested was identified as Ariful Islam, 31, son of Md Zainal Sardar of Choubaria village in Sadar upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-6 conducted a raid there around 5.30 am today and arrested Ariful.

Later, based on information provided by him, the RAB team searched his residence and recovered a foreign-made pistol, two locally made one-shooter guns and 11 rounds of ammunition.

A case was filed against the arrested person with Satkhira Sadar Police Station, and he was handed over to the police along with the seized firearms and ammunition.

Additional Superintendent of Police Zayen Uddin Muhammad Ziad, company commander of the RAB Satkhira camp, confirmed the matter.
