GAIBANDHA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - A microbus driver was killed and five passengers were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a microbus near Sako Bridge on the Gaibandha-Palashbari highway under palashbari upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Masud Rana, 35, son of Md Faizar Rahman of Basgora village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.

The accident took place near the bridge when a bus of Al Hamra Paribahan collided head-on with a microbus, leaving micro driver Masud Rana dead on the spot and five others passengers injured.

Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to a hospital for treatment.

Officer-in-Charge of Palashbari Police Station Sarwar Alam confirmed the matter.
