KISHOREGANJ, Aug 30, 2026 (BSS) - Three people, including a minor girl, were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a covered van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Katiadi upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Rabeya, 50, Milan Mia, 35, and Zara Moni, 5, all hailed from Habiganj district. 

The accident occurred at noon in Tevaga area on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj highway when a covered van collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving auto-rickshaw passenger Milan Mia dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were taken to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared Rabeya and Zara dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katiadi Model Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam confirmed the incident.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital morgue.
