BOGURA, Aug 28, 2026 (BSS) - A daylong Bogura Literature Festival-2026 was held in the district today at the Bogura Zila Parishad with the participation of around 300 poets from 57 districts across the country.

A discussion titled "The Role of Little Magazines in Creating Young Poets" was also held at the event organized by Jatiya Kabita Mancha's Bogura chapter.

The publication of Kathpatra, a little magazine of literature and the mouthpiece of Jatiya Kabita Mancha, Bogura, was also unveiled at the event.

M. R. Islam Swadhin, administrator of Bogura City Corporation, attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the event while Bangla Academy Deputy Director Dr Sahed Montaz, Secretary of the Private Educational Institutions Teachers-Employees Welfare Trust Principal Md Yusuf Ali, Jatiya Kabita Mancha Senior Vice President Monju Khandaker, Vice President Md. Amzad Hossain Khan, and Coordinator poet Lipi Akter took part in the discussions.

Poet and educationist Bazlul Karim Bahar, poet and essayist Muhammad Shahidullah, poet Khaiyam Kader, festival's convener and Bogura Press Club General Secretary Kalam Azad and its member secretary H. Alim, also spoke.
