Saudi fire victim Rabiul of Natore laid to rest

NATORE, Aug 28, 2026 (BSS) - Rabiul Islam of Natore, who died in a fire in Saudi Arabia, was laid to rest at his family graveyard today after a namaz-e-janaza.

The janaza was held at around 10:00am at the field of Mahishdanga Bhattapara Government Primary School in Khajura Union of Naldanga upazila.

The bodies of nine identified victims of the Saudi Arabia fire arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday.

Rabiul Islam, son of Ashraful Islam, was a resident of Mahishdanga village in Naldanga upazila.

Acting Naldanga Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shamim Hossain told BSS that Rabiul's body reached his village home in Mahishdanga, Naldanga on Thursday night with the assistance of the administration.

"His body was buried after the namaz-e-janaza this morning," he said.

The identification and verification process for bringing back the bodies of two other victims from Naldanga who died in Saudi Arabia is underway, and efforts are being made to bring them back soon.
