RANGPUR, Aug 27, 2026 (BSS) - After handing over responsibility as Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner in the morning, Mohammad Abdul Mabud officially took charge as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police today. 
 
While taking charge, he was greeted with flowers and a warm welcome by outgoing Rangpur Range DIG Aminul Islam at his office at 12 noon.

Additional DIG of Rangpur range (In-charge) Shah Momtazul Islam, Superintendent of Police promoted to the post of Additional DIG (Crime Management) Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Muhammad Alamgir Hossain, Superintendent of Police (Traffic and Operations) B M Ashraf Ullah Taher, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Ilias Hossain and Assistant Superintendent of Police (Staff Officer to DIG) Md Nuruzzaman Chowdhury were present at the event. 
 
After assuming office, the newly appointed DIG expressed his determination to further strengthen the law and order situation in Rangpur Range, strengthen 
professional policing, public-oriented services, and coordinated activities to curb crimes. 

On behalf of Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police, sincere congratulations and success were wished to Mohammad Abdul Mabud in his new responsibility.
