SHARIATPUR, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - An elderly was killed after being hit by an ambulance in Chandni area of Naria upazila in the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Harzat Ali Chhoyal, 65, son of Kalai Chhoyal of the same village.

According to Naria police and local residents, after offering Fajr prayers in the morning Harzat Ali was walking along the Shariatpur-Naria road, an ambulance coming from behind struck him at that time.

He died on the spot.
