NAOGAON, July 6, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 3,700 small and marginal farmers in the district today received free agricultural inputs, including seeds and fertilisers, under the government's agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme.

The distribution programme was inaugurated this afternoon at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium by Naogaon-5 lawmaker Zahidul Islam Dholu as the chief guest.

High-yielding transplanted Aman rice seeds, summer onion seeds, vegetable seeds, seeds and saplings under the tree plantation programme, and DAP and MOP fertilisers were distributed among the farmers.

Speaking at the event, MP Zahidul Islam Dholu said the government's agricultural incentive programme aims to reduce production costs for small and marginal farmers while increasing agricultural output. He urged the farmers to make effective use of the government support to achieve higher production.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahin Mahmud and Upazila Agriculture Officer Monirul Islam also addressed the programme.

Among others, Naogaon district BNP Organising Secretary Shafiul Azam Rana, district BNP Joint Convener Aminul Haque Belal, Sadar Upazila BNP General Secretary Al Kafi Tuhin, and Baktarpur Union Parishad Chairman Sarwar Kamal Chanchal were present.
