MANIKGANJ, April 14, 2026 (BSS) - Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali new year was celebrated in Manikganj with great festivity.

through week long programme organized the Manikganj District Administration.The day's programmes

began with a colourful rally with the participation of people from all walks of lives including all the government officials, leaders and activists of political parties, students, teachers and cultural organizations under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Manikganj Nazmun Ara Sultana.

Hundreds of people took part in the rally wearing colourful dresses and holding festoons and banners. 

The week long programmes included various kinds of folk songs, traditional rural songs,lathikhela and display of various rural handicrafts.
