July Mass Uprising Day observed in Manikganj with due respect

MANIKGANJ, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) – July Mass Uprising Day was observed in Manikganj with due respect through various programmes today.

The day's programmes began with the laying of floral wreaths at the July Shaheed Smriti Stambha.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Manikganj Nazmun Ara Sultana first laid a wreath at the July Shaheed Smriti Stambha on behalf of the district administration.

Manikganj Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Jamilur Rashid Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Sarwar Alam, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Mohammad Shajahan Shiraj, Executive Engineer of Power Grid Dewan Giash Mahmud, Manikganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mousumi Nasrin, government officials, teachers and students of schools and colleges, political leaders, and journalists from the print and electronic media also paid homage to the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising by laying floral wreaths at the memorial.

Marking the day, painting, essay-writing and recitation competitions were held at the Manikganj District Shilpakala Academy.

A discussion and a reception were also held in honour of the family members of the July martyrs and the injured July fighters.
