RANGPUR, April 13, 2026 (BSS) - A workshop on monitoring and survey of the 'Novotheater Establishment (Second Revised)' project was held at the conference room of the Rangpur Public Works Department (PWD) Zonal Office today.

The workshop was jointly organised by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), Civic Foundation and Rangpur PWD Zone.

Director General of IMED's Monitoring and Evaluation Sector-7 Dr Md Manzurul Islam attended the workshop virtually as the chief guest.

Among others, Additional Chief Engineer of Rangpur PWD Zone Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Director of IMED Md Saiful Islam, Private Secretary to the Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md Al Amin, Deputy Director of IMED Sarmin Yasmin and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Saiful Islam were present. 

Project Director Md Abdul Halim presided over the workshop.

The chief guest said proper implementation of the modern Novotheater would help future generations gain knowledge about science and space research.

He stressed the need for developing a scientific mindset among students to build a progressive society.

"We hope the remaining work of the project will be completed soon," he said.

After completion, the Novotheater will be opened to people from all walks of life.

The programme was conducted by Executive Director of Civic Foundation Dr Md Rahmat Ullah.
