FENI, April 3, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has destroyed various narcotics worth Taka two crore 13 lakh 65 thousand 351 in the
district.
The destruction programme was carried out yesterday at the headquarters of Feni Battalion in Jaylaskar under Daganbhuiyan upazila with Cumilla Sector
Commander Colonel Rakibul Hasan as the chief guest.
Among others present were BGB-4 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel M M Jillur Rahman, Acting Quartermaster AD Mohammad Nazrul Islam Khan, Assistant
Commissioner of the district administration Chayan Barua, Divisional Officer of Customs, Excise and VAT Bikash Sarkar, RAB's Squadron Leader in Feni Md. Mizanur Rahman and Prosecutor of the Department of Narcotics Control Nur Mohammad.
According to the BGB, the destroyed narcotics were seized in abandoned condition by Feni Battalion (BGB-4) between November 1, 2024 and July 31,
2025.
The items included 3,629 bottles of various types of liquor, 2,097 bottles of Phensedyl, 306 cans or bottles of beer, 765.230-kg of cannabis, 130 pieces of
Yaba, 122,709 Indian intoxicant tablets of various types, 40 pieces of Darbin cream, 10 bottles or containers of narcotics, and one litre of locally
produced liquor.The seized items were later destroyed in front of the public.
Speaking to BSS, Cumilla Sector Commander Colonel Rakibul Hasan said drugs are such a destructive thing that not only ruin the youth but also create
unrest and various social problems within families and society.
He called for a social movement and universal resistance against drugs and assured that BGB is ready to make the highest sacrifices to prevent drug
trafficking along the border.
