KHULNA, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested a man and recovered a sharp weapon and a walkie-talkie set from his possession in the city. 

The arrestee was identified as Md Shahidullah Islam alias Sijan, 26, son of Shahjahan, a resident of Paschim Tutpara Farid Mollar Mor area under Khulna Sadar Police Station.

According to KMP sources, he was apprehended around 5:30 pm on Wednesday while moving suspiciously in front of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court lock-up.

Later, a sharp Chinese knife and an active walkie-talkie set were recovered from his bag.

KMP officials said a review of the Crime Data Management System (CDMS) revealed that the arrestee has records of nine cases filed against him earlier.

A case has been filed with Khulna Sadar Police Station in this connection, and legal action is underway, they added.
