KHULNA, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) - Doa mahfil and a discussion meeting was held on 
Saturday evening at Hafiznagar playground under Khulna Metropolitan Police 
Station area, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of three-time former 
Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme was organised by Khulna City Ward No-17 unit of BNP and its 
affiliated bodies while former lawmaker from Khulna-2 constituency Nazrul 
Islam Monju attended the programme as the chief guest. 

The meeting, held after Asr prayers, was presided over by former general 
secretary of Ward No-17 BNP Mehdi Hasan Sohag.

In his speech, he paid deep tribute to Khaleda Zia's illustrious political 
career and her sacrifices for the restoration of democracy, describing her as 
an unforgettable leader of the country's democratic movement.

He also extended greetings to the current BNP Chairperson Tareque Rahman, 
expressing optimism that under his leadership the party would continue to 
play a decisive role in securing the rights of the people.

Leaders including Arifur Rahman Opu, Asaduzzaman Murad, Mizanur Rahman Taj, 
Mahbub Hossain Piaru, Sekander Jafrullah Khan Sacchu, Advocate Golam Maula, 
Anwar Hossain and Shariful Islam Babu, among others, were present.

The programme concluded with a special doa and munajat seeking eternal peace 
for the departed soul of Khaleda Zia.
