RANGPUR, August 25, 2026 (BSS) – A mobile court penalised a fuel filling station and an automatic puffed rice factory on various charges at different places in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district today.
“The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Dimla upazila administration jointly conducted the drive,” said a BSTI press release issued here this evening.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Dimla upazila administration Md Rawshan Kabir led the mobile court.
The court fined Messer’s Aftab Filling Station at Baburhat in Dimla upazila Taka 50,000 under section 29/46 of the Weights and Measures Act 2018 for providing 1.02 liter less petrol per every 10 liters and 140 ml less diesel per every 10 liters.
The court also fined Messer’s Adil Auto Puffed Rice Mills at Bamunia in the same upazila Taka 10,000 under Section 30 of the 'BSTI Act-2018' for providing false information that the puffed rice product has BSTI quality certificate.
The BSTI prosecutors from BSTI Rangpur Divisional Office were Inspector (Metrology) Engineer Md Ahsan Habib, Inspector (Metrology) Md Nasir Uddin and Field Officer ((Certification Marks) Md Zulkarnine.
“The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public interest,” the release added.
