KHULNA, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan 
officially took charge as the Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan 
Police (KMP) today in a simple and cordial ceremony held at the KMP 
Headquarters.

On the occasion, the newly appointed Police Commissioner visited the 
Commissioner's office and extended floral greetings and respect to the 
outgoing commissioner. 

Subsequently, all formalities related to the handover and takeover of charge 
were completed in accordance with established procedures.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, said his primary goal would 
be to ensure overall security of Khulna city, maintain a stable and improved 
law and order situation, curb crime and establish a safe and livable city 
through people-friendly policing.

He also sought cooperation from the city's respected citizens, public 
representatives, media professionals, various government offices and people 
from all walks of life in carrying out this important responsibility. 

Expressing optimism, he said that through collective efforts, Khulna could be 
transformed into a peaceful, secure and crime-free metropolis.

Additional Police Commissioner Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh, Additional Police 
Commissioner, Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, Additional Police Commissioner 
Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled along with deputy police commissioners, additional 
deputy police commissioners and assistant police commissioners, among others, 
were present.
