KHULNA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md. Zulfiqar Ali Haider today underscored that ensuring a free, fair, and impartial national election requires professionalism, integrity, and efficiency at all levels of the police force.

Addressing the 19th batch of the specialised training course as the chief guest at Boyra Police Lines, the commissioner emphasized that every police member must perform their duties responsibly, maintain neutrality, and uphold the rule of law.

He said the training programme would provide participants with practical knowledge and enhance their skills in performing election-related duties.

"We hope this initiative will play a significant role in maintaining law and order and assist officers in effectively managing responsibilities at polling centres during the election period," he added.

The course, inaugurated this morning, is aimed at strengthening the capacity and skills of police personnel for the proper discharge of election duties.

Meanwhile, the KMP Traffic Division conducted a special drive on Sher-e-Bangla Road to promote traffic law compliance, raise awareness among passengers and pedestrians, and take action against violators.

During the operation, easy-bike drivers were cautioned against driving against traffic, carrying excess passengers, and dropping passengers on the right side of the road.

Authorities also urged drivers to maintain proper lanes and warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone violating traffic rules.
