DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS)- The ACC today submitted charge-sheet against British lawmaker Tulip Siddiq on the allegation of taking a flat unlawfully from a private real estate company in city’s Gulshan-2.
Director General of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Md. Akhter Hossain during a regular briefing today said, Tulip Siddiq took the flat from Eastern Housing Limited (EHL) in exchange of undue benefit.
Two other accused of the case were- former assistant legal advisers of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripokhha (RAJUK) Sardar Mosharraf Hossain and Shah Khasruzzaman.
However, Shah Khasruzzaman, obtained a High Court order in July last for staying the investigation against him for three months.
As the ACC later approached to the Chamber Judge of the Supreme Court to vacate the stay, but received a “no order” ruling.
Finding no other alternative in the last five months, the ACC excluded Khasruzzaman from the case and pressed the charge against two others- Tulip Siddiq and Sardar Mosharraf Hossain.
ACC found a letter from Eastern Housing Limited stated that Tulip Rizwana Siddiq received the flat free of cost from EHL. Her name was also included in the note sheet of the flat owners’ list sent to Rajuk.
The Dhaka North City Corporation records showed that Eastern Housing had informed authorities that the flat was under the possession of Tulip Siddiq since 2001 when Sheikh Hasina was in power. The flat was registered in her name in 2002.
But she concealed the information and showed false advance payment to the developer for the flat for many years.
The ACC official said, the Heba deed that Tulip showed with her sister was false. It was found in city corporation file that the flat is still in her name and she is paying the tax for the flat.
Akhter Hossain said the above evidences made it clear that Tulip Siddiq has tried to conceal the information of ownership of the flat.
