BAGERHAT, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - Qur'an recitation and doa mahfil was held in the district today seeking the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. 

The Qur'an recitation and doa mahfil event took place at 11 am on Monday followed by a winter clothes distribution programme at the Rajnagar Union Parishad premises in Rampal upazila, organized under the supervision of Central BNP Research Secretary Shamimur Rahman Shamim.

During the programme, a total of 2,000 winter clothes were distributed among helpless and distressed men and women from wards 4, 5 and 6 of Rajnagar union. 

Local BNP leaders, activists from various associate bodies, dignitaries, and residents of the area attended the distribution event.

Shamimur Rahman Shamim said, "Today our leader Begum Khaleda Zia is fighting at the crossroads of life and death. As a leader of the people, her illness has deeply concerned us. We seek prayers from the countrymen for her. With the love, prayers and mercy of the people, we hope she will recover soon."
