NAOGAON, Nov 28, 2025 (BSS) - A merit competition for primary and junior
level students was recently held in Raninagar upazila here.
Two students who achieved first place in their respective categories were
rewarded with bicycles.
The competition included students from the primary level (Class V) and the
junior level (Class VIII) of the upazila. The written and oral tests, result
announcement, and subsequent prize distribution ceremony took place today on
the premises of Raninagar Girls' High School.
The merit competition was organised by the Khabirul Islam Foundation. A total
of 210 students participated in the event.
The winners were Md. Abdullah Al Sajid, a student of Naogaon Government KD
School [at primary-level] who hailed from Lohachura village of the upazila
while Taif Rahman, a student of Raninagar Government Pilot Model High School
[at junior level] also hailed from Ransingar village.
The two bicycles were presented to the first-place winners by Md. Khabirul
Islam, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominated MP candidate for the Naogaon-6 (Atrai-
Raninagar) constituency.
In addition to the bicycles, the next nine top students were given prizes
that included gifts such as watches, bags, table lamps, and crests.
Furthermore, all participating students received consolation prizes.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Monowar Hossain Tota,
the Acting Headmaster of Raninagar Girls' High School, while Senior
Journalist Harunur Rashid served as the moderator for the event.
