SATKHIRA, Nov 27, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Army in a drive arrested a notorious drug dealer with drugs in Asashuni upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The arrested was Md. Qayum Hossain popularly known as Dalim, son of late Abul Hossain Dhali, a resident of Shetpur village in Budhata union of the upazila.

On a tip-off, an army team led by Asashuni Camp Commander Lieutenant Asef Ahsan Chowdhury conducted a drive and arrested Dalim with 40 pieces of yaba tablets, 2.5 kilograms of marijuana, and an illegal drug weighing machine.

According to Lieutenant Chowdhury, Dalim had been involved in the drug trade across Asashuni and other parts of Satkhira for a long time, causing widespread panic in the area.

The accused, along with the seized narcotics, has been handed over to Asashuni Police Station for further investigation.
