DHAKA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 429 people were arrested and 64 cases were filed during regular anti-crime operations conducted by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) across the capital over the past 24 hours.

According to a DMP press release, the arrests were made by different units of the metropolitan police.

Of those arrested, 22 were detained by Ramna Division, 22 by Lalbagh Division, 39 by Wari Division, 66 by Motijheel Division, 62 by Tejgaon Division, 144 by Mirpur Division, 35 by Gulshan Division, 39 by Uttara Division and two by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, police also recovered 822 yaba tablets, 19 kilograms and 185 grams of cannabis, and 88 bottles of Eskaf cough syrup.

The arrests and seizures were made during raids conducted in different police station areas of the capital as part of efforts to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
