RAJSHAHI, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Md. Yusuf Ali has said there is no shortage of fertilizer in the division, stressing the need for coordinated efforts to ensure adequate supply to farmers.
He made the remarks while chairing a special meeting at his conference room this morning to review the progress of the Prime Minister's priority programmes and ongoing development projects across the division.
The meeting was attended by heads of divisional government departments and deputy commissioners of the eight districts in Rajshahi division.
The commissioner directed the administration, Department of Agricultural Extension, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) and other concerned officials to work in coordination to ensure fertilizer is supplied according to farmers' needs.
He also instructed officials to regularly monitor fertilizer stocks, supply and distribution to prevent any artificial crisis, irregularities or disruptions in the market.
Yusuf Ali said misleading or incomplete information regarding fertilizer availability could create unnecessary public anxiety. He urged officials to verify actual stock, allocation and distribution data before responding to or providing information to the media.
He further directed the authorities to ensure that subsidised fertilizer reaches genuine farmers and called for strict vigilance against misuse, hoarding and smuggling.
The meeting also reviewed various government priority programmes, ongoing development projects and issues of public interest being implemented across the division.
