RANGPUR, August 30, 2026 (BSS) - US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen visited a cattle farm, dairy production and oil press at different areas of Gangachara upazila in Rangpur today. 
 
The US Ambassador visited Paragon Dairy Farm in the Khaparikhal area of Betgari Union in Gangachara Upazila in the morning. 
 
He visited the activities of raising 1,200 improved cows imported from the United States of America (USA) there. 
 
During this time, he spoke to the officials about cow care, food management, milk production, processing and breeding activities of improved cows. 
 
Paragon Agro and Dairy Farm Limited Managing Director Mashiur Rahman and AGM Mejbah Uddin, along with concerned officials, informed the ambassador about various activities of the farm. 
 
During this time, Brent T. Christensen drank milk produced on the farm. 
 
Ambassador Brent T. Christensen toured the farm and said that improved genetics and quality animal feed can play an important role in increasing the productivity of Bangladesh's livestock. 
 
“At the same time, these agricultural products are also creating new market opportunities for US farmers and exporters,” he said.
 
The visit to Paragon Dairy Farm is considered important in terms of mutual cooperation and commercial potential between the agricultural sectors of the two countries, he said. 
 
Later, the US Ambassador visited the local traditional oil press mill at Chandaner Hat in Betgari Union of the same upazila. 
 
He wanted to know about the process of producing oil from mustard seeds in the press mill and spoke to the people involved. 
 
The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife Diane Dow, US Embassy officials Nicole Clarissa Besnard, Syed Faizus Salehin, and Political Specialist Firoze Ahmed. 
 
At that time, Rangpur Divisional Livestock Department Director Dr Md Abdul Hai Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police of Rangpur District Police Sharif Mohammad Farukuzzaman, Gangachara Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdus Sabur and Upazila Livestock Officer Mahfuzur Rahman were present. 
 
Later, at around 11 am, the US ambassador left Gangachara to inspect the Teesta Barrage Project located at Dalia under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari district.
